Many people believe that freedom and equality is key to this country. “Faith is the first step even when you don’t see the whole staircase.” (MLK, BrainyQuote). My thoughts on freedom and justice are that everyone should have them. Everyone should have freedom and justice. Some people in this world don’t appreciate what the world has given them, so they throw it away, and move on with their lives not realizing what we can do together. This is America, land of freedom. If we don’t have freedom, what is this? Land? No, because Martin Luther King Jr. changed that in the 1950s and 1960s with his protests against the racism of all black people. He leads people to believe in the rights of black people. Dr. King had many followers too. I think that if King still lived today, he would still be trying to help our economy grow stronger. This man was a treasured person because he inspired thousands with his “I Have a Dream” speech and the ”Letter from Birmingham Jail” struck many people with the power within those pieces of paper. MLK wrote many pieces of protest through literature which have helped change the United States today. Many people today still remember his effect on the United States, and many black people thank him to this day forth for helping to free them from the racism that the old times put on them and their families. “I have a dream that one day on the red hills of Georgia, the sons of former slaves and the sons of former slave owners will be able to sit together at the table of brotherhood.” (MLK I Have a Dream Speech) “I have a dream that one day every valley shall be exalted, every hill and mountain shall be made low, the rough places will be made straight and the glory of the Lord shall be revealed and all flesh shall see it together.” (MLK I have a Dream Speech) There are many strong quotes from Martin Luther King and these are just a few of them.
