Natural Law theory is a very appealing theory by Christians and those who believe in the significance in every single thing. Natural Law would answer the question “Should a family have a second child to save the first” with a yes. In this theory, natural function comes into play. This is that everything “serves to achieve some desirable end or goal” (182.) In this case, Marissa-Eve was conceived for a natural function. Her function was to keep her sister alive and well. She knows that she has a purpose in life and the Natural Law theory proves this. In book states “As Creator, God assigned a function to each thing and has ordered all things so that they can coexist in harmony” (183.) Mary Ayala and Marissa-Eve coexist in harmony. Mary is grateful
