Bits and Pieces Case Overview This case focuses on an employee, Mary Beth Jacobson, the department head for the radiology department, who had been receiving perks from three specific vendors in which the Affiliated Nursing Homes and Rehabilitation Center makes their purchases from. From the case, it is apparent that other employees were oblivious of the gifts that she was receiving. It was not until John Henry Williams discussed his new position with her that it became known. The question that this case conveys involves when does appropriate become inappropriate? Case Analysis It is not unheard of for pharmaceutical representatives, vendors, or medical facilities where physicians have referred patients too to send a token of their appreciation for the continued use.
