Mary Queen of Scots: Who Is She Really Some people say she is a traitor, some say she is a murderer but, in all actuality, who really is Mary Queen of Scots. Mary was born on December 8th 1542 in Linlithgow Palace, which is located in Scotland. Her parents were Mary of Guise from England and King James V of Scotland. When Mary was only six days old tragedy hit, her father passed away from natural causes making Mary queen of Scots. The people of Scotland really didn’t like the thought of having a six day old as their queen, so many tried to kill or harm her. When the Scottish nobility found out that Mary was also the heir to the English throne because of her mother, they decided to make peace with England. Every since she was a baby she had been faced with adversity. She had basically been fighting for her life her whole life. She lost her father when she was only days old, her one true love when they were only married for a little while l, and then she lost her mother right after she lost her first love. That is a lot for one person to take in. These things can make a person go insane. All through the her life, Mary experienced a lot of heart ache and pain. She lost everyone to her that she trusted or was close to her. Mary was just looking for someone to love her and to show her that they genuinely care for her. I also believe that she had never recovered from the death of the Dauphin Francis. He was said to be her first true love. They had known each other since they were little kids. When you known someone for that long, it's hard to let them go. Especially if they are your one true love. All in all Mary could possible be could be a murderer, martyr, misunderstood, depressed, or any other name you could think of that you may think fits her description. But one thing is for sure, she was a queen. She just let her heart rule her head that ruled her
