Minimum one year experience in word processing, database management, spreadsheet software, and desktop publishing. Minimum one year experience in bookkeeping and account management. Prior experience working with students from diverse backgrounds is preferred. Counselor- 2 positions The Counselor positions will be part-time, 20 hours weekly, practicum at the College. The Counselor positions will manage a caseload of 15 to 20 students and provide effective personal, academic, and financial counseling that meet the needs of each SSS participant to be able to retain and graduate from Maryville College. The Counselor positions will serve SSS students exclusively. These two positions will report to the Director. Once the Director, Counselor, and Administrative Assistant positions are in place, the program will turn its recruiting focus to hiring two graduate level practicum students to serve as additional counselors for the program. The SSS program will recruit from Tennessee regional and area graduate programs in the areas of Counseling, Psychology, Educational Psychology, Social Work, and College Student Personnel. The program will also reach out to these graduate programs specifically seeking former TRIO SSS student participants now enrolled in graduate school. For the recruitment of students employees who will serve the program as Supplemental Instruction Leaders, SSS staff will also make a specialized effort to seek out student employees (Supplemental Instruction Leaders) who meet SSS eligibility requirements through referral from faculty and student development staff who would have first-hand knowledge of student backgrounds and be able to refer students as applicants (Multicultural Affairs, Dean of Students, Career Center, Dean of First Year and Retention, and faculty who are first-generation students themselves). SSS staff will reach out to the Financial Aid Office for referrals of students who would meet SSS eligibility and meet the requirements to work as a Supplemental Instruction
