Marywood Core Values

Marywood University has verified the importance of their liberal arts core. They do this by setting five core values that include; Service, Excellence, Catholic Identity, Empowerment, and Respect. Each core value embraces its own place in significance to my education. However, excellence is the core value I treasure most. Excellence is manifesting Marywood University's pursuit of the highest level of achievement in support of Sanctitas, Scientia, Sanitas.
Choosing to learn at a university with a core in the Liberal Arts benefits me in to becoming a well-rounded adult and SLP, in the professional field I will be attending after my five years in college. Even if the classes seem immaterial now they will help me for the rest of my life, this knowledge can help not just me but everyone how studies at a liberal arts college far into the future. When they are achieved, along with getting the education in liberal arts, the student has become a well-rounded person and is ready to face any challenges in their future careers to achieve excellence. I have always thought those who choose to help others achieve the highest status of excellence, this is because it is one thing to achieve excellence yourself but when you aid other in the processes to excellence, and it is an even greater achievement. A well-known and current human rights activist, Emma Watson, also stands for a very similar idea of excellence. In her speech at the UN, Emma Watson stands up for gender equality. “Both men and women should feel free to be sensitive. Both men and women should feel free to be strong. It is time that we all perceive gender on a spectrum instead of two sets of opposing ideals” (Watson). This kind of achievement and to be able to stand by your own beliefs truly outlines one of the core values of Marywood,
