The United States Army always has considered the vital importance of the soldier’s physical condition, not only in garrison but also in the battlefield. For that reason, the United States Army set up a variety of programs to encourage Soldiers to be in the best physical condition possible. One of the most important programs is Master Fitness Trainer Course (MFTC). At the completion of the course, the graduated Soldier returns to his/her Unit with the tools to share and give full support to all personnel within the organization. The reason for this research paper is to show some of the aspects that Master Fitness Trainers (MFT) must face. Expertise in those subjects will make the Trainer more qualified to perform his job and to guide Soldiers through an integral physical training. Currently, the Army set up the MFTC which runs in two phases, phase one is an online self-paced learning process, and phase two of two-weeks (96 hours) resident course conducted at the United States Army Physical Fitness School (USAPFS). Therefore, will be beneficial for the Army to add in the curriculum classes such as Kinesiology, Physical education Exercise Physiology, Fitness, and Health management, which will preparer MFTs at a prominent level comparable to a Certified Personal Trainer in the civilian field (personaltraineredu.org, …show more content…

For that reason, Company Commanders and First Sergeants should use MFTs. Provide them with the opportunity to set up and run fitness program that will help to achieve the Company goals of increasing APFT scores, support to those Soldiers that failed the APFT and help those Soldiers that did not meet the Army weight standards. Additionally, to the two-week resident course, the MFTC time should extend and add information to the curriculum of relevant material, such as Kinesiology, Physical education Exercise Physiology, Fitness, and especially health management, nutrition, and diverse types of diet programs.
