I enrolled in the Master of Arts in Psychology at National Louis University in the Fall 2000. I met with my Academic Advisor Dr. Jose De Vincenzo and planned the next two years of my life. I was able to continue working full time during the day and take educational courses at night. The first year, I studied many courses that provided me with valuable learning experiences that influenced my career as a Youth Care Worker at Maryville Academy. Perhaps most important, I believe the knowledge I gained helped me to be a better person in my everyday relationships. In 2002, I fell and broke my ankle (Tri-Malleolar fracture) which required surgical fixation using screws and pins to restore the normal anatomy of my ankle. My injuries prevent me from walk for 24 weeks. I attended physical therapy to learn how to walk again and after two month I was able to return to work. I was still required to attend physical therapy to strength and rebuild the muscle that I lost. I did not have the time or energy to complete my education. …show more content…
I had received a grade of B or better in all my course work. The idea of writing my thesis began to terrify me. I began to procrastinate and I did not know how to broken things down to make them manageable. For about two years, I struggled to write my thesis.
