Average temperatures of this area are 34°C (93°F). From November to April is the best weather in Chichen Itza. In this time the weather is dry, most sunny and warm days. From May to June is the hottest day. Temperature above up to 40°C(104°F).The only source of water in the dry region around the site is from wells (cenotes) formed by sinkholes in limestone formations. A cenote is an underground lake or river. So this easy access to the water made the location perfect for this city. And September to October is the rainy season in Chichen Itza. It is one of the 7 wonders of the world. Where the ancient Mayan people lived. It was a most powerful Mayan capital in this time. It was the main Mayan trade center during that time. They were superb astronomers, architect/builders, athletes and mathematicians. But for some unfathomable reason they never discovered the wheel. In times when Chichen Itza flourished as a city, the Mayas formed a highly sophisticated society.
