McCombs students excel. We were all chosen to be a part of this McCombsian community because we showed leadership potential and academic excellence. We strive to lead successful businesses and to be role models for those around campus. McCombs values are demonstrated through the faculties reiteration of the importance of ethics in business and the Ethics Unwrapped videos and posters online and throughout the McCombs building. Integrity, initiative, and determination define many of the McCombs students. Setting apart oneself from an already elite group is an arduous task and one that I believe I have accomplished.
Most McCombs classes are curved to 3.2; thus, the average McCombs student will have a 3.2 average over their McCombs career. Academically, I’m an above average student; I have a 3.95 overall GPA, university honors in every semester, and am a college scholar. Every semester, with the exception of my first semester, I have taken over sixteen hours. Both of my science credits were College of Natural Sciences (CNS) specific courses instead of easier non-CNS course. And when taking these courses, I achieved As an almost every class. Rather than use my higher than average GPA to point to some brilliance that I do not have, I believe my GPA and choice of classes illustrates two values that I hold: good work ethic

As of May 26th, 2017, I have 71,000 dollars in loans that I am responsible for paying back. By the end of senior year, I expect this balance to increase to almost 100,000 dollars. I take school seriously. My grades and what I learn would be sacrificed if I were to take a job during the school year. However, during the summers I do still work. I secured a job working at a nearby Toyota plant after freshman year and secured an internship with the Marine Corps this summer. Any scholarship or assistance would be paramount in reducing my mortgage-like loan debt that I will be soon paying
