In the excerpt, “Me Talk Pretty One Day” by David Sedaris, there is an abundant use of pathos in an attempt to relate to his audience. Sedaris uses a combination of seemingly displaced letters to form a nonexistent word. He does this in order to convey his misunderstanding of this foreign language.
