Although he died young he died knowing he made good on the promise to his father. It is not made perfectly clear whether Hamlet is at peace with his untimely death, but he does make it clear with his dying words that he wishes people to know he died not a villain but a hero “Things standing thus unknown, shall live behind/ me!/If thou didst ever hold me in thy heart/ Absent thee from felicity a while,/And in this harsh world draw thy breath in pain/ To tell my story.”

He doesn't even consider his friends’ suggestions or pay them any attention. Hamlet draws a sword on his friends forcing them to let him go and follows the mysterious ghost into the forest without any contemplation. Hamlet is basically thinking to himself “what is there to lose?” He doesn't find much value in his life. This is known because of how many times he contemplates life or death in the story.
In his first soliloquy, he expresses his intense grief and inner conflict of wanting to commit suicide but not wanting to be punished by God. From this the audience can infer one of Hamlet’s fatal flaws; he is indecisive. He is constantly searching for certainty, since he is unable to make decisions without it. Although Hamlet is wary of the story given to the public to explain the King’s sudden death, it is not until the ghost confirms his suspicions and he uncovers the truth that he vows to “Remember thee!”. He suspects foul play was involved, yet he never acts on this uncertainty until certainty is provided for him.
He was to the point where he thought it would just be easier to die than to live with all these struggles. Hamlet’s uncle Claudius killed his father which put a huge burden on his shoulders because he loved his father so much. What made it even worse was his mom, Gertrude, ended up marrying Claudius short after King Hamlet 's death. After the king was murdered, Hamlet saw his father’s “ghost” which told him that Claudius was in fact the one that killed him and that he wanted Hamlet to seek revenge for him by killing Claudius, but not to punish his mother for remarrying. He said it is not his place to do so and that heaven will judge her when it comes time.

First, King Hamlet’s ghost affects action when he first appears in the play. When he first appears, he doesn’t even speak. When he finally does speak, he only talks to his son, Prince Hamlet. The ghost says, “I am thy father’s spirit… Revenge his foul and most unnatural murder” (1.5.9,25 Hamlet).
Instead of taking action and killing claudius, he questions whether the ghost was actually his father asking to revenge his death or the devil resembling his father to try to tempt him into murder.
