Australian Muslims and Islam have the less religious relationship and they are recorded to cover less percentage of total population of Australia. Generally, Media is the broadcast news media that represents the various aspects and opinions to the different nation. Media has become a mode of communication that interlinks and portrays the Islam and Muslims religion in Australia. The media portrayal has been changed from past to present with respect to the age, gender, religion and many more. Media has covered the domestic issues and many international incidents which flow negative opinions of Islam. It is stated that Muslim people are given less opportunity to interact with the different people in a different scenario and it leads people to move to media for the information which is articulated (Bryant and Zillman, 2002). It is fact that there exist violence and discrimination against women and there exist breach of human rights of Muslim and is widely covered by mass media. Though some artifacts are demonstrated by media, there is a limitation for the truth about the Islam and Muslim to some extent. It is revealed that media has the power to influence the behavior and attitudes towards to Muslim people in Australia. A research conducted by Dreher (2009) has stated that people have a kind of fear and insecurity after they have been bothered. The attack was for the New York and Washington which reported that the poor society relationship between the Muslim people and Wider society. The incidents of oral and bodily attack have increased the fear of Muslims people in Australia. It has stated that media has a stereotypical representation of Muslim as they are enemy and terrorist. Because of the wrong new covers about them, they are highly critical to the news media. Their attitudes have been changed towards the mass media. Both the positive and negative feedbacks are collected from the survey where there can be seen a maximum number of negative comments regarding the media expose of Muslims and Islam (Ewart et al., 2017). Though the history shows many positive contributions by Australian Muslims, nowadays many Muslims and Islam are misrepresented. As they are regarded as the Indigenous people of Australia and contributed Australia in many ways, they are not recognized by the journalist in favor of their religion. It is further suggested to any journalist to be highly responsive to demonstrate the fair representation of Muslims and Islam as the country must have grateful to their contribution. Islam is being represented as the ‘culturally incompatible’ with that of Western cultures and Muslims are being represented as the possible danger for the security of Australia because of the international events and the terrorist attacks in the United States (Rane et al., 2010). News media in Australia should be fair to all the religion. None should be treated badly or bias them talking about their religion.
