Discuss: This position entails administrative duties such as scheduling patient’s appointments, compile and record medical records, answer the telephone and direct staff. This person may also be cross trained in clinical duties such as drawing blood, assisting during the exam, and acting as a liaison between the patient and the physician.
Physician assistants work under the supervision of a physician. The service provided by a PA is contingent upon their education, experience, the state laws, facility policies and the needs of the patients at the practice. The standards which defines the service that PAs provide allow for faster, effective and specialized health care. Physician Assistants are licensed to obtain patient medical histories, conduct physical exams, diagnose and treat illnesses, order and interpret test, develop treatment plans, assist in surgery, write prescriptions for controlled substances, and educate and counsel patients.
At my physician office, the staff always dress and act professionally. I have been going to my physician since I was 6, I have even job shadowed my physician. I do not recall a time my physician or his staff has ever been unprofessional. They are always dressed in scrubs or business casual. If you choose to go to Remington College the program is twelve months and then you take your certification test through the NHA. After you take your test and past you are now certify as a license medical assistant. You can apply at hospitals, Dr. Office, walk in clinics and etc. As a medical assistant you are require to do certain job duties.
Choosing a career in the medical field can very be overwhelming, there are a multitude of options. The job that is in demand the most is Registered Nurses. This degree, at the minimum, requires an associate’s degree. By the year 2020, all R.N.’s will need to have a BSN (Bachelors of Science in Nursing); Bachelor’s degree programs are 4-year programs. But don’t stop there, after 2-3 years of on the job experience, find what area you would like to specialize in, and go on and earn that Physician Assistant degree.
Why you want to be a Medical Assistant? The three main reasons why I want to be a Medical Assistant, is to help my community, help my family in a financial way, and to learn something I’ve never learned it before. Throughout my journey, I had a goal to become an MA in the future. I didn’t even know that being an MA was an easy thing to do.

The profession I have chosen to pursue is that of a Physician Assistant. My reason for this selection is because it gives you the independency of a Physician while having somewhat less responsibilities. A Physician Assistant provides healthcare services typically performed by a physician, under the supervision of a physician. Some of these services include but are not limited to examining and treating patients, diagnosing illnesses and counseling patients. In some case physician assistants are also tasked to prescribe medicine to patients.
I would have loved to start this personal statement by stating that nursing has always been a passion or mine that was solidified by a prolific experience in my life. However, that was not my journey, I have thought long and hard before deciding to apply to nursing school. Growing up and learning about the medical field, whether it had be my own personal experiences or media portrayals. The symbiotic relationship between nurses and doctors was always known. It was only when I fully immersed myself into the medical field did I realize differences between each role, the value of working a part of a team, and the significant changes one can make in someone’s life by conversation.
When I first applied for college at YVCC my goal was to get a certificate as a medical assistant. But after attending two-quarter I talk to my advisor and we decide to change my goal and instead of just receiving a certificate I decided to take a step further and go the whole way. Therefore, my goal is to achieve my associate of applied science as a medical assistant. I have always had obstacles in my life since I was in high school, but I have always found the way out. To be honest, I never thought I would be able to graduate from high school or even get accepted to college, but after so many years I am achieving everything that I thought of as impossible.

I want to be a physician because I want people to grow old. At the age of 6, one of my closest friends was diagnosed with leukemia. By age 8, the disease claimed his life, robbing him of the opportunity to experience the privilege of growing old. Unfortunately, we live in a society of vanity. We see the process of aging and choose not to embrace it.
I began my undergraduate education at Colorado State University in 2004. I declared my major as Business Administration with a concentration in Marketing. At this point in my life, I had no clue what I wanted to do for my career and thought this would be the best option and give me the most diversity of career options. Going into my sophomore year, I began a job in the emergency department at the hospital located in the college town. During my first day, I got to see a variety of emergent and non-emergent medical procedures.
Working in different settings and meeting new people that need to be taken care of has always interested me. The job I want to have while I go to college is the very challenging role of a Medical Assistant. Due to the experiences that have happened in my life, I believe that becoming a medical assistant is the best career choice for me. There are many duties and responsibilities I will have as a medical assistant.
Ever since I was a little girl my dream was to grow up and be a doctor, and i still have that dream. My choice of major is Biology: Anatomy and Physiology to later go on to medical school and become an ER physician. I feel like I have always been push to be a doctor and that is why I just ended up really getting into it more and more as I grew older. I actually grew up with a variety of people in the medical field including my mother, which is when I truly realized that science and the human body fascinated me. I was ten when my mom decided to become a Medical Assistant (MA), and she would always take me to her classes with her
