With this being my first semester here on campus, I was very nervous my first week of classes. Where were my classes at? Is there enough parking for me? What if I’m late? I had many different thoughts running through my head the first week of classes but I found my classes, I found parking, and I made it to class on time with no worries. Knowing I had 4 classes on campus and 1 online class, I thought taking the time to interview my online Medical Terminology teacher would be a great time to get to know her better and also be able to put a face with her name. So, that’s just what I did. I interviewed Barb Stevenson who is my Medical Terminology professor. I thought about some good quality questions I could ask my teacher just so I could get to know her better and be able to form a good paper about her. The questions I asked her consisted of: Why is a college education so valuable in today’s world? Stevensons response was “Having a college education helps plant the seed to go further in your life. It gives you all the necessary tools to branch out and try new things.” Why did you choose to become a professor at Washburn University? As many struggles you are going to face it is going to pay off in the end. College teaches you more than just things about your major, it teaches you quality life skills. There are so many people in this world that don’t even get a job that their major is associated with and I think just going through college in general teaches you life skills you can use in the future. Not only did I get to meet my teacher in person, I was also able to learn more about her. I learned from her that there are many teachers out here that actually care about their students and want them to succeed in life. Not only in school but in life
