In the Disney film Meet the Robinsons, we are introduced to the movie's villain, Micheal Yagoobian, also known as "Goob." How and why did this little boy turn to villainy? We start in the past with Goob's childhood in the orphanage with his roommate Lewis; we then flash forward to see the future and see a man known as "the bowler hat guy," who we come to find out is Goob in his adulthood where all he cares about is ruining his Lewis's invention. Goob has a fascinating character arc that developed him into the villain he became because he was unable to let go of his past and vendettas, "Goob's past troubles haunt him throughout the entire movie" (Bordallo, Par. 2). The bags under the little boy's eyes indicate he was kept up all night and very exhausted. "All of this simply because the protagonist, Lewis, kept him awake all night with his tinkering. Goob's life was ruined in one fell swoop, so his malicious actions towards Lewis, despite being an attempt at ruining another's life, are at least understandable" (Kluin Par. 5). Because of Lewis's antics all night, Goob was unable to stay awake and alert through anything. Still, we see Lewis ignoring every word he says to him and solely focusing on his invention. We then see Goob and the orphanage director talking after he is done helping Lewis; after their conversation, she goes to see Lewis. "Alright, Einstien, you owe Micheal big this time" (Mildred Duffy). Mildred says this to Lewis, and he doesn't mention anything about Goob or being thankful for his help because he only cares …show more content…

After hearing that Lewis invented Doris and was taken advantage of, then thrown away, they decide to team up and take revenge on Lewis together. "We both had a score to settle with you and while my plan for revenge was brilliant, Doris' was… Well, we went with Doris" (Micheal Yagoobian). They decided to steal Lewis's time machine and go back to the day of the baseball game/science fair to steal Lewis's invention and ruin his future. Although, Goob didn't realize he was being taken advantage of by Doris. Doris wanted to take over humanity and turn all humanity into enslaved people. "Doris, what's happening? I don't understand. I just wanted to ruin his future, not this. No" (Micheal Yagoobin)! All Goob wanted to do was ruin Lewis's future, not end all of humanity. Doris, the robot, saw that they had one thing in common and used it to manipulate Goob into helping her with her plan to end humanity because she wanted to turn them into enslaved people like they tried to do to
