Memory and Redemption are two unique entities that each of us is capable of or is part of who we are. We can relate this back to the book, “The Kite Runner”, which is written by Khaled Hosseini. Memories and redemption can manifest many forms depending on what you believe in or what action you take. You can see how the main character was influenced by his memory which led him to redemption. We chose the themes memories and redemption because the connection between them is intriguing and everyone can relate to it. Continually, we all have some sort of prior knowledge on the topics which is further enhanced by the research we conducted. We know that memory is the process where the brain holds all the information. In addition, memories can influence how a person would respond to a certain situation because of the emotions that are stored with it. Our curiosity caused our minds to wander more about this topic leading to the research we conducted. Memories are connected to many things such as the emotion it can cause. For example, the guilt that Amir felt because he couldn’t do anything when Hassan was being harassed. Other than memory, our secondary topic of choice was redemption. As such, a question rises which entails, whether or not can a person truly be redeemed for their action. For instance, the actions that Amir decides to take shortly after the first half of the book or his recollection is his way to show redemption for the guilt that is stored within him.
