Bernal Diaz del Castillo Bernal Diaz was born in 1492 or 1498 to Maria Diaz Rejón and Francisco Diaz del Castillo, a regidor (council member) of the town of Medina del Campo, in Castilla y León. The family was distinguished but not wealthy. In 1514, Bernal went to seek his fortune in America with Pedrarias Dávila (Pedro Árias de Ávila), Bishop Fonseca's newly appointed governor of Castilla del Oro. A cruel and unscrupulous schemer, Pedrarias excelled at extorting riches by torturing native rulers, looting gems and gold from their graves, and eliminating potential rivals. “Los Mandados” is a corrido type of song, where Vicente Fernandez starts his story of coming back to his region, and what did he face during that time. While listening, I noticed the performer couldn’t hold his breath for long, which makes me think that he doesn’t have a good breath control, but he have a good vowel placement. In his voice style, I couldn’t hear falsete, so I can tell that he uses his chest voice while singing. I feel this song could identified as a defiant song because of the way he sings and the meaning of lyrics, especially, when he begin to say that, even though the patrol caught him many times, he never gave up and still trying many different routes, until he would make it back to his region. The way the performer tells
Angel Resendiz Destiny Johnson Lafayette High School For nearly two years, a killer literally followed wheatfield Americas ra-lit dawn. The El Camino Real de los Tejas served as a lifeline for Spanish Missions. It moved men and equipment rapidly, and brought them much needed supplies. It also served as a communication line, and supported trade, supplies, and military protection. In a similar way, this pathway contributed to Texas independence. It gave troops and armies supplies that were needed, and enabled communication.

In the book “The Misfortunes of Alonso Ramirez,” the author describes the adventures that a poor Spanish American carpenter had when he was captured by English Pirates. Alonso Ramirez pleads his case to judges to prove that he was in fact not a pirate working with the English and that he is indeed innocent. We will be considering different evidence that Alonso Ramirez states in order to prove that Alonso Ramirez was indeed a pirate, but just distorted his stories in order to make him seem a victim to the whole situation. People who commit piracy is defined as someone who commits crimes of robbery and violence in the seas. Alonso Ramirez fits into this description when he talks about Pirates taking treasures from Siamese people.

When Crevan realizes Celestine will not beg for forgiveness, Crevan shows her his “insurmountable power”. In this case, corruption is shown through pressure to conform, exploitation, & obvious vile underlining intentions. In Texas, there was a famous judge who was convicted of bribery and obstruction of evidence. This man took requests from attorneys and the accused for favorable outcomes in return for money, favors, or investments in companies. Judge Rodolfo Delgado personally decided he was above the law, just like Crevan did.

With that being said, Merrick Garland is ignoring the representation of the people who voted for Obama during the final year in office. He says “the people should decide” and they did through the president they elected. Mitch McConnell referred to congress’s ability to check the president’s power by withholding consent. Mitch McConnell plans to withhold consent until next election, but what stopping him from obstructing the process for as long as he wants? There doesn’t seem to be any constitutional restrictions on how long congress can withhold.
Most of the “donations” that are given start from thousands and “there’s no limits on how much an individual can give” (Moyer). These vast amounts of money can impact judges court decisions in favor to the groups that funded their campaign elections. It is almost as judges are returning a favor in form of approving certain policies and ruling “pro-business”. Campaign contributions can lead to a corrupt government which now is being regulated by the Judicial campaign fairness act. This act is used to put “limitations on judicial campaign contributions” (lecture).
“I strongly believe that no federal dollars should ever go to abortion, except in the case of rape, incest and life of the mother. That is why I was proud to introduce the ‘Title X Transparency and Verification Act,’” Manchin said, showing why he voted to maintain the Title X funding. “...which would put audits online for all recipients of Title X funding, so any American can verify for themselves that no federal funds are being used illegally for abortion.” (“Manchin Statement”), he then later explained about the Title X Transparency and Verification
