Depreciation is a mental health disorder that is described as a state of low moods and loathing to activities that can affect a person’s thoughts behaviors, feelings and their sense of well being. There are many types of depression, these types are: • Major Depression: The incapability to experience pleasure and enjoy life • Dysthymia: days of feeling slightly or moderately depressed with moments of normal moods. • Postpartum Depression: Triggered by hormone changes after having a baby. • Seasonal Affective Disorder: SAD is a type of depression that is felt at the same time each year. • Atypical Depression: subtype of major depression, occurs with several specific symptoms (appetite/weight gain, under/over sleeping, weakness etc.) • Psychotic Depression: subtype of major depression, has a severe depressive illness with psychosis (hallucinations, Delusions), a person out of touch with reality. • …show more content…
• Premenstrual Dysphonic Disorder: disorder where women experience severe depression symptoms during menstruation. • Situational/Adjustment Disorder: short-term depression due to the occurrences in traumatic changes in life (divorce, death, loss of job etc.) There are many causes of depression and a few examples are loneliness, lack of social support, recent stressful life experiences, family history of depression, marital/relationship problems, financial strain, chronic pain, health problems, unemployment, alcohol/drug use, early childhood trauma/abuse. These are only a few of the possible causes. Some of the symptoms are: • Feelings of helplessness and
