I programmed in MATLAB using the Unix operating system to investigate the accuracy of computer simulated NMR spectra of glutamate and GABA generated by a 3-tesla MRI scanner. It was fascinating to see ideas being put into motion while presenting at the Douglas Institute’s first annual Undergraduate Research Expo. These experiences strengthened my analytical skills and enhanced my capacity to think critically while bridging the gap between the theoretical and practical world.
