Merci is a complicated character because she has love/hate with her dad,has a lot of dreams and is determined. In this story it's about a young girl Merci having dreams to be a painter just like her Papi.One day she dreams of even taking over his company however she didn't know how many challenges you have to face. To begin with Merci is a complicated character because she has a love/hate relationship with her dad. This quote starts closer to the end of the story when the high school girls mess the paint up causing Merci to have anger running through her veins. “Seaward Pines is a dumb school ," I blurted, “I'll hate it .And I hate Papi too.” This is showing that at this point of time Merci hates her dad.This reasoning is because the soccer girls messed up the paint and Mercis Papi is making her fix it . The love-hate relationship is at its climax in this part of the story.Merci is filled with red hot anger and will not stand for Papi making her do this.
