Behavior is a natural human occurrence. People deal with behavioral issues on a daily basis, whether they be good or bad. In the case that the issues are erroneous, the behavior causes problems for many. It provokes disruptions, such as interrupting class and missing instructions from a teacher. Both of these things are unacceptable and are reasons that a student may be susceptible to punishment, such as being kicked out of a classroom. These reasons are the main causes of why Meredith was removed from class today. Misbehaving has many consequences. Children are taught to keep quiet when in silent places, and when they disrespect this rule, they are reprimanded. This is what happened today. She acknowledges that some of her side discussions may be distracting, there are many others who carry on with side conversations who did not receive punishment. Furthermore, the classroom is set up in such a way that it is fair game when answering questions posed to the students. Meredith tends to answer these questions, intending to further her own understanding. Howbeit, this seems to come off in the wrong way to the instructor. Notwithstanding, Meredith excels in the class; she now has an A average in English, and she believes that this is because, despite her overall behavior, she gets her work done. Furthermore, she does not understand why, if she behaves in this manner consistently, today was different. The bell had not rung for class to start, yet her teacher removed her still. It was explained to her that STAAR prep would be administered and that the teacher did not wish to have any interruptions because it was such an important concept to learn. Why, then, kick out five students to teach the rest of the class such a vital lesson? If the subject was so valuable, then the students should not have been ushered out. Instead, their punishments should have been taken out in another way, such as making them write an essay such as this one at home instead of having them miss an entire day’s lesson.
