Meri Brown actually divorced her husband Kody Brown so he could legally marry his 4th wife Robyn Brown. This was all in hopes that Kody could adopt her 3 children and make them part of the Brown family. People shared that Meri Brown is now speaking out about the adoption and how happy she is that these children are not a big part of their family. These children are from Robyn's previous marriage, but Kody has been raising them as his own for a while now. The only way that Kody Brown could adopt them was if he was actually legally married to Robyn because the court doesn't recognize their spiritual marriage.

Meri explained why they had do this in the upcoming People magazine issue.

It was all her idea and Meri even started it on her own by meeting up with a lawyer before telling Kody and Robyn her plan. Kody's 3rd wife Christine Brown thought it was amazing and shared her thoughts.

It was a really sweet offer and, as far as polygamous relationships go, I don't know of any other family that has done this. Where another wife has given up a legal marriage so he can marry another wife and that way they can adopt the kids. This isn't something that happens so it was really sweet and generous.

Robyn Brown knows that things like this don't normally happen. It was very special for the Brown family to go into the court house and be united as a family. This comes after the Brown family actually moved to Las Vegas to get way from legal problems in Utah for living as polygamists.
