I am interested in attending a faith based college like Messiah because it is my desire to continue to grow academically, personally, and spiritually. I would like to be in an environment where I can further my knowledge of God and who He is, while deepening my personal relationship with Him. Serving others for Christ is a priority of mine for my life. I would like to continue to develop my leadership skills and become even more prepared to serve others. I feel the best way to accomplish this goal is to attend an institution like Messiah where the school’s mission and philosophy focus on growing their students in the areas of leadership, service, character, and intellect.
I felt that God was calling me to take a huge risk this summer by spending a week on a mission trip in Haiti. Even though this was a risk, this experience taught me how to become more independent and how one person can make changes that can impact others. …show more content…

Also, I had to constantly remind myself not to open my eyes or mouth in the shower and to stay away from the dogs located right inside our living area. I had to live on my own for the week without reminders from my parents of what to do and what not to do.
