Although there is a significant progress in Mexican public health system, the main players, such as government and pharmaceutical companies, believe that there are many changes and improvements are necessary to come.
It is a challenging goal, for medical technology and pharmaceutical industry, there are multiple options to achieve this, and it is unknown, which these options are the best. Despite this, there is a way to achieve this, and Mexico has all the chances to become advanced medical technology country, there are a number of upcoming initiatives. There are still some concerns, especially in providing access to innovations. One of this major step for improvement is an inclusion of formularies institutions and National Basic Formulary (NBF), as well as the reliable supplement of contemporary drugs for a population. There are multiple improvements required for this direction, and one of the most important is to establish secure distribution of innovative drugs, which will give sustainability in the long-term ("The healthcare system and regulatory framework in Mexico", 2017)

There are places that are vivid examples: Tijuana, which is 20 miles from San Diego. This city has the highest concentration of Mexico's medical devices firms and 70% of them belong to the US. Companies such as Medtronic, DJO Global, Hill-Rom-Welch Allyn and CareFusion. Many of their headquarters are located on the main roads on San Diego, and they consider investing heavily in Tijuana, building long and low-slung factories.
