Planet Earth is inhabited by a wide variety of different types of people. Typically people define someone by their personality or by the way they carry themselves, however what you can’t see on the surface is the essence of what truly defines someone, that being their cultural background. Culture is the way people live life, it’s a combination of traditions, morals, and beliefs. Furthermore, nobody can really know an individual’s culture unless they get to know the person or research the culture itself. (Pruitt 2015) Although Mexican food is still practiced in southern Texas there are considerable differences between Tex-Mex and true authentic Mexican cuisine. First and foremost most Mexican cuisines use a corn tortilla opposed to Tex-Mex using a flour tortilla, also Tex-Mex is associated with fast food Mexican cuisines. The main dishes in Mexican cuisine are very popular to include tacos and burritos but many people overlook or do not know about their unique variety of deserts. When the Aztecs ruled their empire most deserts were either boiled, broiled, steamed or eaten raw.
