INTRODUCTION Mian Mohammad Mansha was born on 1st December, 1947 in a wealthy Chinioti family in Punjab, Pakistan. Mansha attended Sacred Heart School, a co- educational convent school run by nuns. He later went to study accounting at Hendon College in London, returning to Pakistan in 1968, before completing his degree because his father had developed cancer. His father died in 1969, when Mansha was 22. Mian Mansha was married to Naz Saigol, a former classmate from his hometown who also belongs to a rich and prominent industrialist family. It was partly an arranged marriage, as their parents were friends back in India. He now has five children: three sons; Mian Raza Mansha, Mian Umar Mansha, and Mian Hassan Mansha and two daughters; Sheza Mansha and Huma Mansha. All of his children were provided with elite education form world class educational institutions. BACKGROUND Mian Mohammad Yahya, Mansha’s father and his five brothers left their home in Kolkata, India, in 1947. They moved to Faisalabad, the big cotton-producing area in Pakistan, established a textile mill, and started the family’s cotton business. The brothers called their cotton company Nishat Mills after Nishat Haroon, a grandson of the eldest brother. Mansha was born that same year.
