The new era of gender fluidity leaves one third of America unable to successfully define transgender and gender nonconforming folks (Brennan et al., 2017). The diversity in gender identification as well as expression has become more visible in our society today. Research on adult development and quality of life among transgender people and gender nonconforming people has been limited. This study examined the relationship among gender-related stressors, resilience factors, and mental health outcomes by using the gender minority stress model as a framework (Brennan et al., 2017). The movie concerns three women Virginia Wolf, Clarissa Vaughn, Laura Brown, and Richard. The plot is based on three women of different generations. Their lives are interconnected by the novel "Mrs. Dalloway" written by Virginia Wolf in 1923 in England. The three women starring in the movie; all suffer from depression. The movie is quite a riddle. The women are living in different generations but are related through the novel mentioned before, "as one is writing it, one is reading it, and one is living it". Woolf and the other characters in the movie, "The Hours" contain barriers because of their mental illness. For Woolf, it was misguided services and the disability itself. As for Laura, it was her lack of education and the disability as well. I mention her lack of education because the book does not clearly state she has a mental illness but I believe she does which points to depression. It may not be as severe as the others but all she did know was how unhappy she was a mother and a wife. Her only savory was to abandon her family. Clarissa's issue was the disability itself. She was much like Laura to me because the story line does not utterly mention her having a mental illness. I think the living of happiness of people of other contribute greatly to the choices she make in life possibly a posting a huge barrier for employment. Richard possessed a far more severe scenario because the outcome of his mental illness was suicide. What may contribute to the outcome of his mental illness was misguided services, lack of vocational experience, lack of education, and the disability
