Michael Jackson Overdose Michael Jackson died on June 25, 2009 of acute propofol and benzodiazepine intoxication. This occurred at his Los Angeles home in the Holmby Hills neighborhood of North Carolwood Drive. He was found in his room by Conrad Murray, his personal physician. Murray immediately started CPR after noticing Jackson's shallow breathing and barely-there pulse. "Shortly before his death, Jackson had reportedly been administered propofol and two anti-anxiety benzodiazepines—lorazepam and midazolam—in his home. His personal physician was convicted of involuntary manslaughter in 2011 and served a two-year prison sentence" ("Death of Michael Jackson"). The victim of this crime was Michael Jackson, music phenom with a household name, belonging to a person taken too soon due to drug overdose. I remember it being a big deal and all of the commotion around the overdose and the physician who couldn’t seem to remember how to perform CPR correctly. I think that’s what did Murray in, the fact that he is a certified doctor but couldn’t figure out how to perform CPR on a dying patient correctly. Michael was suspected of heavy drug use for a long time and he had an array of medications in his house, all of which were not in his name. If he had wanted to get away with killing Michael Jackson by overdose, he should have at least tried to make it seem that he did the best he could! Plus, we have talked in class before about drugs that reverse effects of other drugs, like the drug police officers now carry to reverse heroin overdose. He also should have realized that, Michael being famous, it would get looked into. Every little detail of his final moments would be scrutinized to see if there were any mistakes
