The king of pop, the father of music, the biggest impact on society. Michael Jackson is not only a talented singer and songwriter, but he has created an impact not only on society but on me. He has broken racial and cultural boundaries, as well as emotionally reached out to aspiring artists to just have fun. Michael Jackson was born August 29, 1958 in Gary, Indiana. He was the 8th sibling in his family of 13. Ever since he began working on music, it was clear that Jackson had a bright future in the music industry. At the age of 5, he joined his father in creating his family group known as the Jackson 5, which was one of the biggest groups in the 1960’s and the 1970’s. The Jackson 5 were signed off by Barry Gordy (1 S). Although the Jackson 5 group singing appears perfect, behind the scenes they were far from perfect. There was no written trouble of the brothers, but there was known rivalry between Jermaine and Michael. Other than their rivalry, the family was very close, although they never really had many photos with each other. The Jackson 5 slowly broke apart after Jackson’s brother Jermaine left the group after marrying his wife Hazel. After that, Jackson's little brother, Randy, joined the group.
