Sports have always played an important part in society, capturing the hearts and minds of millions of people all around the world. There have been countless people throughout history who have left an unforgettable impression on the athletic world. Arguably the most important figures include Jackie Robinson, Michael Jordan, Muhammad Ali, and Roger Goodell. Jackie Robinson, the first African American to play in Major League Baseball (MLB), broke through the color barrier in sports. His incredible feat with the Brooklyn Dodgers in 1947 not only transformed baseball but also fueled the civil rights movement.
Ever since sports began to be the country’s pastime, athletes have become burn out thanks to the “country’s great love of sports”, fueled by the presence of overbearing parents, athletes might deal with problems such as being pressured with perfectionistic expectations, being forbidden from expressing emotions and feeling violated of your privacy. Famous tennis star Andre Agassi, stated in his book “Open: An Autobiography” that his father, Mike Agassi, was “violent by nature”, and recalled when he won his first Grand Slam title in 1992, his father disapproved of his game that day, saying “You had no business losing that fourth set”. While there are several overbearing parents in sport, there’s also caring ones like Dell Curry, father of two time MVP NBA Star, Stephen Curry. A father who lets his son play his sport even though he was a known athlete back in the 90’s, he’s always in attendance for the games, and never has talked wrongly of his son, he’s there to support him at everything he accomplishes. The role of sport parent essentially is to be a parent, care for their child, attend their games, be active in their life and let their children do the work which would be handling the fame
They based their achievements off of hard work and meritocracy, which states that you the rewards go to the people due to their abilities qualifications. When the do good in sports it is based on their character, hard working ethic and the fundamental skill they possess. You hear a lot in other sports this person is very fundamentally sound and that they see the games two steps ahead because even though they may not be as athletic as the other players they find a way to out beat them and it is through their mind. Then if you see that they are athletic then it is said that even though they were not born with that gene to be athletic it took a lot of hard work to be able to achieve

The Jordan Influence When most people think about Michael Jordan, they think about him as the greatest basketball player who ever played. However, Jordan was not only a basketball player, but someone who influenced the American culture and society. Jordan’s influence was one that had never been seen before. Whether it was through basketball or his own brand, Jordan was making everyone want “to be like Mike”.
The Sport is a devastating road to heartbreak and failure. (I suggest, To experience sports, you have to experience heartbreak and failure - sounds a bit awkward to say “the sport”). It is the definition of it. Don't get me wrong, sports can lead to success, fame, and many other glorious things that others can't imagine. Like the money, land and the "acquaintances"
Coaches In sports, coaches are a big factor in the team’s success. Coaches are there to support the team and help them learn about the game. A coach makes the plays and tells the team members when to sub. Most athletic events will not let the team participate without a coach, they would have to forfeit.
American basketball star Michael Jordan was born on February 17, 1963, in Brooklyn, New York. Jordan left college after his junior year to join the NBA. Drafted by the Chicago Bulls, he helped the team make it to the playoffs. For his efforts there, Jordan received the NBA Rookie of the Year Award. With five regular-season MVPs and three All-Star MVPs, Jordan became the most decorated player in the NBA.
This is where the training of coaches comes into play. From a parents perspective the individual that is coaching their kid is very critical to the process. For example, one in every four coaches is considered less than good as seen by parents of the athlete (Aleshire, 2003). In an observational and interview
In my life I’ve been freshwater fishing and saltwater fishing many times in a variety of places. Throughout my experiences I’ve realized that a large amount of people consider all types of fishing to be the same, this is not true in many aspects. It can be divided into two categories: saltwater fishing and freshwater fishing. I’ve caught a 40 inch northern in Canada (freshwater) which is a big fish, and it only took me ten minutes to get it into the boat. However, I caught a 42 inch shark in Florida (saltwater) which took me 20 minutes to reel in, and that is considered a small fish.
Too many professional athletes are acting like ignorant fools. Professional athletes are setting a terrible example for today’s youth. They have cocky attitudes and have no respect for others. They go out and participate in things they shouldn’t do. Now, not all professional athletes are bad role models, Mike Trout, Mariano Rivera, Derek Jeter, John Wall, Cristiano Ronaldo, Peyton Manning, Russell Wilson, Roger Federer and many more have benefited people by being amazing role models.
Thesis: Communication between coaches and their players and how their relationship effects their overall performance in athletics. Article 1 Communicative dimensions of the coach/ player relationship can have a profound impact on the self-esteem of the adolescent personality involved in sport activities. Assertiveness training is a part of standardized coaching clinics can be an important ingredient in improving the coach/player relationship. Wolf (1969), Lazarus (1971), and Rimm and Masters (1974) have demonstrated that aggressive behavior generally results from nonadaptive anxiety which inhibits the appropriate expression of assertive and effective communicative response in the individual. Questions to consider by both coaching staff members and the coaches themselves can aid in identifying potential coaching candidates for communication training:
