The Houston Rockets took Hakeem Olajuwon for the first pick, Portland took Sam Bowie, and the third pick went to Chicago. With the third pick, the Chicago Bulls took Michael Jordan. Michael was drafted to a team that was nearing terrible, their last season they went 27-55 and finished tenth in the Eastern Conference, which not qualifying for the NBA Playoffs.
