Michelangelo was one of the greatest artists in the world, providing the base for all artists today, painting everything from the Sistine Chapel and carving the statue of David to building one of the best known domes in the world. Michelangelo started his life in the Italian Renaissance as a painter, sculptor, and architect. His work demonstrated a blend of psychological insight, physical realism and intensity never before seen. He is most known works of art consisted of the sculpture David and the Painting of the Sistine chapel.

His original plan was to paint 12 separate apostles (important Christian teachers). Failing, his painting turned into 300 figures on the sacred space in the chapel. Witch later had to be removed due to a fungal infection witch got into the plaster by one of his assistants. He then fired all of them and completed the 65 foot ceiling by himself.
