Have you ever heard of Henrietta Lacks, Phineas Gage, or Douglas Mawson? All of these people underwent major struggles for the sake of science, but one stands out more than the rest. Henrietta Lacks was a woman who died at age 31 due to cervical cancer; her cells helped form a multi-million dollar industry (“Immortal Cells, Enduring Issues”). Phineas Gage was a railroad worker who had once shoved a iron rod into a blasting hole, which caused the rod to shoot into his skull. Gage faced side effects from this that led scientists to uncover details on the frontal lobe of the brain, and brain disorders (“The Man with the Hole in his Brain”).
Elie Wiesel and Larry Itliong, both led extremely remarkable lives. Their work helped change the world for the good of the people. The “Angel on the Battlefield”, Clara Barton. Many people think of Clara Barton as a normal nurse who got a hole in her shirt, but I think of her as a woman who changed the course of history. A talented woman who helped cure the wounded during the Civil War and helped establish the Red Cross is Clara Barton, she was one of the only women who had the guts to go out on the battlefield, which made a long-lasting positive impact on society by opening more opportunities for women. Helping cure the wounded in the Civil War and helping establish the Red Cross was Clara Barton. She was one of the people who helped establish an important company, the Red Cross.

Pioneer War Nurse Clara Barton began as a school teacher and later became a War Heroine. She has been an important influence on my life because she managed to earn equal pay (with her male coworkers) and enter battlefields inspite of her inability to vote. She her nursed her brother back to health, and began teaching at the age of 15. Clara Barton was a shy person yet she accomplished so much. She encourages me to be the best version of me.

He dedicated his whole life to his career and research. The result of his dedication was amazing. Clara Barton was another person who dedicated her life to her career.
Oskar Schindler A man named Oskar Schindler actually saved more than 1,200 Jews in the Holocaust. He persuaded the Nazis to save them and transferring his workers so they don 't suffer the death camps. He is a very brave man for what he did. By 1935 a lot of Sudeten Germans joined the pro-Nazi Sudeten German Party. Schindler joined too-not for the love of Nazis, but because it made business sense for prevailing wind.

Despite all of the chaos, she encouraged others to help people that were caught up in disasters of their own. People admired her unique quality of wanting to take care of the sick and wounded. As well as overcoming her childhood struggles, she became a teacher, founded the American Red Cross, and accomplished much more. The person who I chose is Oskar Schindler. He saved thousands of Jews from murder. He was born in 1908 in a province of the Austro-Hungarian Monarchy. He worked as a businessman. Schindler was working for the Nazi party when he saved about twelve-hundred Jews from the Holocaust.

After reading Lord of the Flies I asked myself a question, was Ralph a good leader or not? In my opinion Ralph was a decent leader, but he could’ve been better. He was a good leader in some ways, but he wasn’t in other ways. Some readers argue that Jack would’ve been a better leader than Ralph. I think if Jack and Ralph became co leaders they would’ve succeeded more in bettering the tribe and surviving more as a group.
