L.I.F.E. Because of this Angie Thomas also shows that fear can limit people from being themselves, preventing them from speaking out to say the truth after experiencing something like racial profiling. The main character, Starr,is a representation of the microaggressions and prejudice that minorities face on a daily basis. There are comments that people make that may sound normal to themselves but may be offensive to people due to them being based on stereotypes.
