Microsoft is a huge company computer technology corporation. Thehistory of Microsoft began on April 4, 1975, when it was founded by BillGates and Paul Allen in Albuquerque. International Business Machines (IBM) firstapproached Microsoft about its upcoming IBM Personal Computer (IBMPC) in July 1980. On August 12, 1981, after (back-and-forth conversations to agree on something) with Digital Research failed, IBM awarded a contractto Microsoft to provide a version of the CP/M operating system, which wasset to be used in the IBM PC.
