Bronfenbrenner (1986) states that the way at which family and friends communicate with each other can also create norms which will in turn serve as examples of the microsystem caregiving, contributing to the prevention of child abuse. He also acknowledges that the mesosystem on the other hand involves connections between a child’s immediate environments, and how all these environments interact together to support the child.
