Humanism was a movement that believed that the human mind had limitless potential. It gave humans more freedom rather than following dogmas and superstitions. It was the start of the more scientific and logical age, based on evidence rather than beliefs and religion.
Daijha McCrae 9W October 8th The Renaissance was a time noted for a "rebirth" of learning. the Renaissance is described as a reentrance into the world. It gave a rebirth of classical learning and a rediscovery of Greece and Rome.
The medieval times lasted from the 6th century to the 16th century. The medieval era wasn 't a pleasant time for people to be alive as it was a time were punishments and trials were really harsh and dangerous. During this time, it was easy for people to commit a crime. Crimes that are now seen as something insignificant were perceived as a horrible offence such as sleeping on the streets and talking behind peoples back. The society in the medieval times were organized by the feudal System.
A Knight’s Tale In the movie “A Knight’s Tale” there are a lot of things that differ from the movie and the real Middle Ages. Medieval times are generally believed to have started with the fall of the Roman Empire in 476 and to have lasted about a thousand years, from the fifth to the fifteenth century. The Middle Ages are called “The Middle Ages” because they were the time period between the fall of Imperial Rome and the beginning of the early modern Europe. There were three social classes in the Middle Ages.
Medieval Age Period The movie A Knight’s Tale was based supposedly to take place in the medieval time period. As in knights, kings, queens, servants,peasants, and nobles. There are a lot of different topics about what was considered to be the Dark Ages like the social statuses of the upper and lower classes, the women’s roles that were played during that time period, and the people’s lifestyles in general back then. However, the movie was not actually true to the actual laws and other things during the medieval times.
The Middle Ages are a dark and scary time full of war and sadness. There is the Plague, poverty, Viking raids, and many battles. The Middle Ages are less advanced than Rome. The Middle Ages started the 5th century and ended the 15th century. In this time castles were used for protection and safety, definitely not for comfort.

During the High Middle Ages, the population of Europe increased greatly which allowed trade to prosper and the Medieval Period climate to change. The political structure where knights and lower-status nobles owed military service to their overlords in return for the right to rent from lands and manors, were two of the ways society was organized in the High Middle Ages. Men during this time was seen as this prestige figure versus women, they are seen less. Women were taught to be a “good wife” to their husbands by cleaning, cooking home food, and taking care of the children.
In the Medieval time period, there were different classes that played different roles in the society. The upper class, and the lower class are the classes that differ the most in this time period. The upper class were often viewed as nobles, and the lower class were commonly viewed as peasants, serfs, or commoners. The ways of life and the roles of these two societal classes were also drastically different. Although these two classes are very different, they are both vital to the society.

With the establishment of the feudal society in Franco-Norman period of the Early Middle Ages (late 800s), the style and extravagance of the clothes started to reflect one’s position in the society (Tierney 4 par. 1-2). Crime and Punishment in the Medieval Period The Middle Ages or Medieval Period lasted from 476 CE to the 1453 CE. It began with the fall of the Roman Empire and merged into the Renaissance and the Age of Discovery. The Middle Ages is divided into three main periods, the Dark Ages, the High Middle Ages and the Late Middle Ages. To a significant extent the nature of crime and punishment, it was very different between social classes during the Medieval Period. This can be seen through the significant groups that were involved in medieval crime and punishment, the effects of a person’s social class on crime and punishment and the punishments given out to different social classes between the Medieval Period and today.
Life in the Middle Ages seems like it was very difficult. Women had a lot less rights than men did. Men got all different high power roles in society. Women were just expected to run the household and take care of children. Plus, wives by law were supposed to just be "under" their husband.
The very concept of women changed in number of ways and several forces influenced women’s role during the Middle Ages. The role of women depended on the estate they came from. There were three types of estates which were the first, second, and third. The First Estate,which were those who prayed and worked for the church, were considered the high class of society. Following it came the Second Estate, nobility, which was those who fought like the knight or lived in royalty.
The Middle Ages is one of the most fascinating periods of history. A period that strongly characterized by the existence of the feudal system or Feudalism. A world of nobles, peasants, taxes, vassals, feuds, and monarchies weakened. But beyond this, the medieval world was dominated by the Catholic or Christian Church. It was the period of greatest splendor of the Church and in particular of the Catholic Church, since this had much influence on society and, although there were other faiths, in the eleventh century Europe was largely Christian.
