The Timelines Across Ages Submitted by: Lelaine Mercado (9 Argon) We live in the age where technology continues to change the world, slowly but surely. An age where it is wonderful to be alive (albeit the terrorist attacks and the possibility of World War III). And so, I will take the liberty to compare it to a major timeline where technology was it lowest: the Middle Ages. Because despite the obvious differences of each timeline, they are much similar than what you may see. So relax, pull up a chair, light a candle as I continue to compare this timeline to one hundreds of years ago. Let’s take a look at the people of power before, which was the Church. The Church and clergymen have control over everything, and soon the power got to their head. Now, instead of thinking about God, they were thinking they were God. Women in the Middle Ages were to be confined to the house and were expected to be prefect. Unfortunately this applies today; the stereotypes of women that women must stay at home to take care of children. Luckily, there are women who are changing the game by being a working mom and a house mom at the same time. The latter still applies quite strongly, especially because of social media. And because of this, women still have the need to change their appearances or act a certain way just to please society’s standards. As you can see, there is not much difference from the Middle Ages. But rather, how each timeline handles each type of problem or concept as a whole, which is why it seems to be better in the time we live in today. Because at this time, women are starting to have equal rights, entrepreneurs are changing the world with their products and services, the government isn’t as corrupt and we didn’t have to pay money to get a reservation in
