Middle School students can make a difference in their local communities. No one is too young or too old to make a change. Take Rachel’s Challenge as an example. In Rachel’s final school essay she wrote, “I have this theory that if one person can go out of their way to show compassion, then it will start a chain reaction of the same. People will never know how far a little act of kindness can go.” The challenge still exists today to inspire and equip every person with a permanent positive change not only in themselves, but in their schools, their businesses, and their communities. Now take a look at Random Acts, a non-profitable organization working to inspire the world to commit acts of kindness, both big and small ones. We organized a Library Fun Day down at the Brumback Library in town. Our community service project was to help the library gain popularity. So what we did was create two meetings to figure out when to hold the fun day. After that, we then decided to begin our plan of operation. We had talked to the librarian about our plans that we were going to do for the kids at the library. We held a fun day on January 30th and 31s at 3:30 - 4:45. The entertainment that was provided was a groundhogs day pop up, and a “guess how much candy is in the candy jar”. We also did a flip book about groundhog’s day and handed out Valentine’s Day pencils. We also provided cookies and punch for the kids when they came and did the crafts. Not many kids came but we did help the kids that came in have fun. After that, we had documented it to show that we did it. We learned a lot from this project and we hope that we can do it again someday. Middle School students really can help out their
