Have you ever wondered why 6th graders cannot play middle school sports in Wake County? The reason is that 6th graders are still growing, can get bullied, or hazed. Another is that grades will drop.

There are many reasons why 6th graders will do poorly in school, because of middle school sports. For instances, some 6th grader cannot manage time well with their homework, and getting involved in an extracurricular activity such as a sport will take away their time to accomplish assignments. Another reason is that some 6th graders will be more focused on sports than school, and an example would be that some kids will become unfocused on the teacher’s lectures. Additionally, 6th grader may be late for class and then they will be behind on important things like graded assignments, quizzes, worksheets. Moreover, many parents want their children to be more concentrated in their academic studies; parents want the best for their children and want them to do their best.

6th graders are still growing/ developing for participating in middle school sports. A 6th grader will get their bones broken because our bones are not fully grown and aren’t that structured, and it’s a fact that 8th graders will crush the 6th graders bones. More than 47% of students that played middle school sports have gotten hazed before. 6th graders will get bullied by the 8th graders by potentially getting punched by them or just getting their feelings hurt which is getting bullied. Older kids can tell the 6th graders to do something they don’t want to do, and then the 6th graders would not know what to do. 8th graders will tell 6th graders that they will never be as good as any player there and that is considered bulling.
