A Midsummer Night’s Dream, by William Shakespeare, is a love story about multiple scenarios that include social commentaries, to elaborate the notion of humans behaving foolishly while in love. Shakespeare nonchalantly places farcical aspects in these commentaries to further exemplify that people do crazy things while in love. Such as embarrass one ’s self profusely, or doing regretful things that don’t seem regretful at that time. Maybe it’s to love someone who doesn’t love that other person back, and depending on the person can cause mischievous outcomes. Even at the nascent stages of love capricious behavior can hurt others.
Namely love can result in embracement “Shall we for pageant see?/ Lord, what fools these mortals be!” (III.ii.116-117).
