Mike Tyson is the greatest boxer ever, but do you know his backstory? Mike Tyson was born in Brooklyn, New York, in June of 1966. He was a very poor and delinquent child. He started boxing to get away from that lifestyle. Mike Tyson is the greatest heavyweight boxer of all time. Tysons record of all time is 50 wins, 6 losses, 44 of those 50 wins were knockouts and 2 were no-contest. Tyson is a two-time heavyweight champion. He started boxing at age thirteen and never stopped there. Bobby Stewert is a social worker and he introduced Mike to boxing as a school for troubled boys and taught them discipline. Mike Tyson boxed his way out of adversity by slowly becoming the greatest boxer ever. Tyson worked hard every day to get where he is today. Eventually, Tyson earned the nickname “Iron Mike” because he is the most unstoppable boxer that anyone has to face. “I boxed Tyson twice and I boxed Lennox Lewis, and I would rather box Lennox Lewis five days a week than to fight Mike Tyson. He's awkward, short, dangerous, and when he’s fit, he’s very dangerous”(Thomas Gerbasi). There are conspiracy theories today about Mike Tyson. One being, that his trainer hypnotized him to box well and always win. Tyson explains what his trainer would do/say, “you relax”. You go in there and totally focus on blackness, nothing. They tell you, ‘You’re going to be a savage, an intelligent animal, you’re working, you’re going to do this, you’re going to be a ferocious animal, you’re going to fight both hands to the body, use your jab in ferocious fashion,’ They sinked all that into me when I was younger.”(Adam Wells) Overall what is hoped you learned from this essay is that even though Mike Tyson is the greatest boxer ever he had to work for that
