At time he was killed the police had many theories of why he got murdered on that day. The police had multiple suspects about who did it but wasn’t sure of who or why they murdered Biggie Smalls. Mary Maloney is a very loving and devoted house wife and mother-to-be. Though her dream of having the perfect American family was destroyed by the bewildering news of Patrick choosing another women over Mary and their child. Innocent is all Mary Maloney is, due to her indistinct state of mind caused by her heinous husband’s decision to desert her and her child while she is unable to control her emotions due to her being pregnant. Mary is not guilty of murder instead innocent due to diminished capacity.
I’m defending Mary in the short story, “The Lamb to Slaughter,” written by Roald Dahl. I am pleading for my client, Mary who is not guilty in the murder of Mr. Maloney. Mary would have never murder her husband, because she is six months pregnant. She couldn’t lift the heavy weapon used to kill him while carrying a baby. Mrs. Maloney was at the neighborhood grocery store at the same time the murder happened.
First, let’s start with the prosecution witnesses. They called a neighbor, police officer, and professional psychiatrist. The neighbor was called to attest to Mary’s character and party life style. It helped show that she made bad decisions and had poor judgment at times, but it does not equate to murder. Not everyone who drinks kills their baby.
The lynching of Jube Benson The Short story, “The lynching of Jube Benson”, by the African-American writer Paul Laurence Dunbar, takes place in the southern parts of the USA in the 1900s, which is at the same time as the emancipation of the slaves. More accurately, the story takes place in Gordon Fairfax’s library, where three men were present; Handon Gay, who is an educated reporter, Gordon Fairfax, who is an library owner and Doctor Melville, who is a doctor. The author collocate these three men at jobs which is powerful in the society. The story is about a white narrator, Doctor Melville, who explains, to the two others, that he has been involved in a lynching of his black friend, Jube Benson.
This essay compares and contrasts two films, “Dial M for Murder” and its remake “A Perfect Murder” in order to analyse how these films depict the main female characters Margo and Emily. The paper especially focuses on the remake’s intention to present a modern version of women or wives, by looking at the changes in characters, settings and the use of phone as a medium. Firstly, “A Perfect Murder” makes several changes to the original characters in an attempt to revise the traditional gender roles. Although Margo from “Dial M for Murder” and Emily from “A Perfect Murder” are apparently similar in that they are both beautiful and wealthy blondes, Emily is portrayed as with more of a brain in the beginning of the film.
