The novel Parallel Journeys by Eleanor Ayer is a nonfiction story about two child during World War II. In chapter one Helen Waterford is introduced, she is a young jewish girl who has moved to Amsterdam to hide from the Nazis that are transporting all jewish people to concentration camps. In chapter two, a young boy by the name of Alfons Heck is introduced, he has just in rolled in Hitlers youth program. The story changes back to each of the characters and their families telling the story of how the jews lived and how Germans lived during World War II. When I picked this book out I knew very little about the people the book is about and the author.
Also, the main character is a teenager as he enters the camps like Eliezel. Like Eliezel, he tries to be as kind as he can but struggles with the horrors of the camps. Like the Gruener family survive in cramped spaces and many deportations. Both books find that luck finally runs out.
In the article "Don’t blame the eater" written by Zinczenko, he argues that fast food is the main reason why so many teenagers are suffering from obesity in United States. He explains that many companies will use advertisements to deceive customers. For example, a company’s website offers a chicken salad with less than four hundred calories per serving; however, they don’t label everything that the salad has In the first label. They will use separate labels in the products that the salad has on it, so the costumer gets confused and thinks that he is actually eating a four hundred calories salad that is "healthy". However, he is actually eating a seven or more hundred calories meal.
The book peruses like a dystopian dream in the mist of World War II. During World War
Walter Dean Myers dropped out of school at the age of 15, due to family problems. He loved school, and he loved literature. Being unconnected to the world of learning, and becoming tired of not being able to read, he decided to visit the public library. Until he could no longer bear the fact that he was not getting an education(his one and only dream), he silently cried in his bedroom every night. He needed help and seeked attention from others until one day, a “do-good” counselor called his house and got him put back into the school system.

The book Night by Elie Wiesel is all about World War 2 and the Holocaust. This time period was between 1941 and 1945. If I were to choose one word to describe this book, it would be horrifying. The Holocaust is a very hard and horrible time period to go through. It was either live or die.
The theme of the story is to be careful at all time ,many thing bad things can happen if not careful . Summer was walking alone at night when she should have been with someone she know or trust to walk with her. Summer was stubborn to be walking alone to find her friend at night. By doing that Summer has ended up in a very bad situation. She got kidnapped by a man named Clover has a mental issue.

As I said, it is based story and it will follow Elie's journey from spending time with his family to getting moved to a concentration camp. Elie and his father must face brutal beatings and harsh selections throughout the book, and it will only get worse for the both of them.

In the novel Milkweed by Jerry Spinelli, the greatest threat the Jews forced to survival life in the ghetto is both the lack of food and Nazi soldiers. Nowadays, threats don't look like Nazi soldiers they look like cats and dogs and fighting. For example, Nazi soldiers “are going to forced people into the camps by deportations. They are going to get rid of all of you.” (p.169)
Someone 's identity defines who they are. There are no two identities that are the same. , Everyone is unique in different ways. Finding oneself may take time and might not be exactly what you are expecting. In the novel “Milkweed” by Jerry Spinelli, the protagonist Jack assumes many identities but ultimately does not know who he is.
Night by Elie Wiesel: Although Wiesel writes about his own experience in a concentration camp during the Holocaust, both books main characters are children who are asked to have courageous and brave acts through frightening moments. Rating:
It talks about loneliness, desperation and confusion that anyone who has no guide to ease them into the world goes through. It also talks greatly about the human mind’s ability to repress the memories that it finds too traumatic to deal with. The plot starts out simple, an unnamed protagonist attending a funeral in his childhood hometown. He then visits the home that he and his sister grew up in, bringing back memories of a little girl named Lettie Hempstock who lived at the end of the lane, in the Hempstocks’ farmhouse, with her mother and grandmother.
I was pretty disappointed by this book. Hardly any action. I have read a lot of books by frank peretti and he usually like to write horror books. I guess that was what i was hoping to find in this book. I like adventure book.
