Review of Disney XD’s New TV Series: Milo Murphy’s Law

Murphy’s Law states that anything that can go wrong will go wrong. (Warning: Spoilers!)

This is the premise of the new Disney XD TV series. Milo is an optimist despite having the most extreme bad luck imaginable. He doesn’t mind the inconveniences of say, missing the bus, getting lost in a forest, being chased by wolves, falling in a sewer, and being abducted by aliens on the way to school. He is prepared for anything and takes it all with a spring in his step.

It’s evident that series’ creators, Dan Povenmire and Jeff “Swampy” Marsh are also the masterminds behind Phineas and Ferb, as Milo Murphy’s Law is very reminiscent of Phineas and Ferb.
The most noticeable parallel is that the animation style is the same. It looks like the characters could be from the same cartoon. This might imply that Milo Murphy’s Law takes place in the same universe as Phineas and Ferb. Perhaps Milo, Phineas and Ferb are neighbors? Perhaps what results from Milo’s bad luck is responsible for making Phineas and Ferb’s inventions disappear at the end of the day? …show more content…

Milo and Phineas parallel each other. They are both endlessly plucky and positive, prioritizing having a good time and being with their friends. Diogee parallels Perry. Both characters are voiced by Dee Bradley Baker. Phineas says “Where’s Perry” and “There you are Perry” just as Milo Says “Go home, Diogee” and “He’s not supposed to be ” Vincent Martella, the voice of Phineas Flynn, voices Bradley in Milo Murphy’s Law. Bradley is the opposite of Phineas: a pessimistic, grumpy fun sucker.
