Kathrine Drexel have astounding differences in how they lived their early lives. One of the main striking differences is the style of life they lived. While Milton was very poor and unable to have any luxuries, Kathrine had more money than most families knew what to do with at that time. This set them up to go on different paths early in their childhood. The second difference was that Kathrine had full and total support from her family. This company proved to be successful, and by 1890 he had over 700 employees working for him in three plants. His journey did not end here. In 1893, Hershey visited the World’s Columbian Exposition in Chicago, and it was here that he first discovered the idea of making chocolate. With this new idea in his mind, Hershey goes on to create one of the largest chocolate companies in the world. He builds an entire town that is today known as Hershey, Pennsylvania, which is home to his factory and chocolate themed amusement park. Some of his other accomplishments include building the nation’s largest free, private zoo and building an orphanage. The orphanage became an industrial school for boys. He built it to give them the experience and start that he wishes he could have had. Not very many have accomplished as much with their life as Milton Hershey, but one who comes close is St. Katharine
