In the book Minutemen and Their World, by Robert A. Gross likes to focus on the struggles that people faced in Concord in the seventeen to the eighteen hundreds. Gross also focused on the lives of the framers. In chapter one it said that "most of Concord's leaders were substantial yeomen and tradesmen with seventy-five to one hundred acres of land twice the holding of the ordinary framer(13). Gross describes how the life a framer or even people who have higher title see how decisions can affect them. Framers and tradesmen rely on their business because that is how they live day by day. The first main change that happened was the British soldiers continued marching to Concord after the shooting of the Lexington. Also after the shooting the new spread really quickly to other people in different towns. They were to gathered enough people to stay by the path of Concord. When the British troops arrived to Concord, they began to search everyone's houses for any firearms. The militiamen had fallen behind back in Lexington they were order to take over the North Bridge were there was path to the town Concord. The militia were close and came across the British soldiers burning down their houses. But the militia reacted quickly and ran off to save their homes. When the British soldiers were leaving the militiamen followed them until British soldiers started to shoot. Commander of the battle of Concord Major John Buttrick, gave orders to the militiamen to shoot the British. The first time that Americans opened fire to the British. When Americans opened fire they outnumbered the British. There was a lot of soldiers and commanders that were killed on the British side.
