The painter had many years on working on technique and skill to make this wonderful painting that includes a religious aspect. This painting is one of many of his wonderful paintings, many pieces of paintings were lost for random reasons or just didn’t survive. An altarpiece is a painting, painted on wood that would be set behind an altar. Most of the art pieces that he did, were not saved fully so most of them were not complete. There is no evidence on where they could be or why they did not survive. One of his earliest surviving work is the, Heizspiegel Altarpiece, this painting had many bare rooms with human like figures, the other one is the Altarpiece of the Virgin. And the most famous one is the St. Peter Altarpiece which has the Miraculous Draught of Fishes featured in it. There is little about himself, life and his paintings. This is because of how little the paintings were reserved. But we can tell that he wanted to make an illusion with his paintings. From the reflection the men are wearing colored clothing and see the men dropping the net into the water from inside the boat. Near th4 shore the water is transparent, we can see the rocks at the bottom, but the water in the middle of the picture is a silvery blue. The only thing not reflecting in the water is Jesus, because it is implied that it is the resurrected Jesus. He also paints the landscape around Geneva, on the countryside. The disciples are fishing on the edge of the lake and recognize a stranger who has yelled out to them. They recognize him as Jesus. Peter is paddling to shore toward Jesus to see him.
