Audience: I would recommend this book to girls who like math because, this book talks a a lot about math. Since Lucy became an extreme genius the author includes using lots of numbers to show Lucy’s smartness in math. I recommend this to girls because Lucy being a girl shows struggles that some girls have to face which resonate easier with girls than with boys. Conflict: The mood of the novel proves to be happiness because throughout the whole novel, the author tends to make each moment seem wholesome and peaceful about a young girl making friends. Reflection: Throughout the book, I enjoyed reading about how such a young girls life can be changed very quickly by one short moment. I liked learning about the different personalities of the friends Lucy made. Levi my favorite character in the novel, seems like alike to me because we both enjoy photography while being more quiet and reserved rather that Windy a with a very loud, bold, and outspoken personality. One part of the book that made me think was why did Lucy’s dad abandon her. Rating: ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I rate this book five stars because this novel represents how different people come together and get along. I liked how the novel shows people with opposite personalities can still come together and become reliable friends. This novel also taught people about Pi.
